Chong Yuet Ming Buildings

The Chong Yuet Ming Buildings were opened on 13 December 1994 by Dr Li Ka Shing (Hon LLD 1986). Dr Li had made a $35 million donation to set up a fund in memory of his late wife, Madam Li Chong Yuet Ming, who graduated from HKU with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1961 and passed away in 1990, after whom these buildings are named.

The buildings are a complex consisting of two major science buildings and an amenities centre. It is located at the northeast of the University’s Main Campus. In 2016, the Chong Yuet Ming Cultural Centre (CYMCC) was established with the aim of providing an enabling platform for arts and cultural events on campus.
