This year, ten HKU students were awarded an Innovation and Technology Scholarship, driving their passion to pursue science and technology as a lifelong career. The Scholarships support students’ participation in overseas/Mainland attachments, local internships, service projects and mentorship programmes.Computer Science student Angel Woo (BEng(CompSc) Year 2) has enjoyed using technology to design and create since childhood. Her enthusiasm for technology has set her on the path to become an inspirational computer science professor in Hong Kong. Her dream is to enable more Hong Kong people to embrace technology in their lives via advocating AI research and STEM. Without any family support, Angel succeeded in achieving 5** in the HKDSE and chose to study for a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science at HKU. This Scholarship will enable Angel to participate in overseas exchange at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and in local internships.
