Kadoorie Biological Sciences Building

This building was named in honour of the Kadoorie Family whose family members have been patrons of the University for more than two decades. This science building, built by the same architectural company that designed the Main Building, Messrs. Leigh & Orange, opened in January 2000.

The Family also supported other projects of the University, for instance, the HKU Kadoorie Agricultural Research Centre.  The Centre was originally a botany farm in the New Territories and presented to the University.  With the Kadoorie Family’s donation, the Kadoorie Agricultural Research Centre was opened in 1986. The Centre functions as a research facility in a variety of areas relating to environmental science and agricultural, horticultural, and nature conservation problems.
