The year 1967 marks the founding year of the Faculty of Social Sciences at The University of Hong Kong. That year, the new Faculty admitted a modest 115 students.  Fifty years later, as the Faculty celebrated its half of a century of impact, “the Social Sciences Pioneer Class of 1967-70” held a series of reunion activities to celebrate their 50 years of friendship.

To acknowledge the impact HKU has had on their lives, the Class paid it forward by making a gift towards the University’s First-in-the-Family Education Fund (FIFE). The gift will render financial support to students who are first in their family to attend university, giving them the opportunity to participate in outside-classroom learning activities.
