Dr the Honourable Donald Tsang Yam Kuen, Chancellor of The University of Hong Kong (HKU), conferred honorary degrees upon five outstanding individuals at the 182nd Congregation held at Loke Yew Hall in March 2010.
Honorary Degrees are awarded to individuals in recognition of their distinguished service and commitment to the University, the community, and to academia. They are also conferred to those who have made valuable intellectual, social and cultural contributions to society and the world.
The five honorary degree recipients are:
Doctor of Science honoris causa
Professor Lawrence Chin Bong Chan
Doctor of Social Sciences honoris causa
Mr Lawrence Siu Por Fung
The Venerable Master Hsing Yun
Dr Serena Hsueh Chi Yang
Professor Richard Yue Hong Yu
Mr Lawrence Fung, Dr Serena Yang and Professor Richard Yu are members of the HKU Foundation.
