On the occasion of the 50th Anniversary of University Hall in 2007, the University Hall Alumni Ltd. established the University Hall Alumni Fund, an endowment fund to support student development of students living in University Hall. In 2013, University Hall Alumni Ltd continued to raise fund for the young Hallites with the setting up of the “University Hall Alumni Fund 2013”. Up to May 2013, some 40 University Hall alumni have donated more than HK$550,000 to the Fund, together with the Government Matching Grant, succeeded in creating a Fund of over $1 million.
The “University Hall Alumni Fund 2013” will provide grants to University Hall students who lack financial resources and have made substantial contributions to University Hall. These grants will fully or partially cover their hall fees; and allow them to participate in enrichment activities in non-academic areas, such as organisational and social skills, social awareness, sports, arts and culture.
“Looking back on the past 30 years, I realise the U Hall Brotherhood has been of inestimable value to me. We wish to raise funds to help current U Hall students further enrich their university life.”
