On June 7, 2026, the HKU Foundation proudly hosted the annual HKU Reunion at the Races at the Sha Tin Racecourse. Held in conjunction with the Hong Kong University Alumni Association (HKUAA) Challenge Cup, this memorable gathering brought together approximately 220 guests and representatives from eight faculties.

The thrilling afternoon featured eleven exclusive HKU-named races. A distinct highlight of the day was the HKUAA Challenge Cup (Handicap), where Virtus Glory—a horse proudly owned by the HKUAA Syndicate—secured a second-place finish, adding an extra layer of excitement to the festivities.

This annual gathering honours a cherished tradition that began in 1971. When Hong Kong's horse racing industry entered its professional era, the Stewards of the Club invited prominent local groups to donate trophies. Since the inaugural Cup race at Happy Valley on March 27, 1971, the HKUAA has proudly upheld this legacy.

The HKU Foundation extends its deepest gratitude to the alumni, friends, and faculty who attended and helped make this year’s Reunion at the Races a resounding success.
